For many women, menopause can be an extremely stressful time. Coping with the effects of hormonal changes as well as other menopausal symptoms such as lack of sleep, can result in anxiety and depression. Add to this the fact that menopause is often accompanied by other lifestyle changes, such as empty nest syndrome or caring for elderly parents, and it’s not surprising many women find their symptoms worsened by additional external stress. One form of stress that can really exacerbate the symptoms of menopause is found in the workplace. Pressure in the workplace is one of the most common reasons people become sick with stress related illness, so as you’ll probably know if you’re a sufferer – coupled with hormonal changes workplace stress can pretty much push you over the edge. For the purpose of this article, I’m not going to enter into the politics of management training needs etc, in relation to Mental Health Awareness. This article is about how we might take back control of our emotions, self confidence and indeed our health as a whole unit. This is exactly how the powerful effects of Traditional Indian Ayurvedic Massage Healing works.
Ayurvedic massage is a key part of Ayurvedic therapy. The body is viewed as similar to a machine. If a machine isn’t oiled it will seize up just like the skin needs to be oiled, and the flow of chi energy manipulated and encouraged.
When we are affected by external stress such as in the workplace we often try to carry on as normal, however deep inside we feel like a spring coiling tighter and tighter. After a while our breathing gets affected and we become physically ill. This physical illness is in fact a consequence of our mind and how we perceive our situation in the workplace which is quite often oppressive & destructive. When the symptoms happen, it’s because our body is giving a sign that enough is enough.
Ayurvedic massage should be carried out every day or at least weekly to promote positive Mental, Physical & Spiritual health. It’s only when we achieve wellness in these 3 aspects of our health that we can begin to take control of our lives again and feel confident enough to tackle the underlying issues.
Regular Ayurvedic Massage also helps us overcome fatigue, strengthen the nervous system (Symptoms of over exposure to stress) improve eyesight, nourish the bodily tissues, increase longevity, normalise sleep, instil flexibility and sturdiness as well as to maintain good health in general.
